HUD–USDA Energy Code Rule Vacatur Date

The HUD–USDA energy code rule was vacated and the federal mandate stopped from taking effect. A federal district court vacated the HUD–USDA rule that would have required certain federally financed housing programs to comply with the 2021 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2019 standards. The ruling halted implementation and left the affected programs operating under prior standards unless future rulemaking or legislative action occurs.
