Reduced Elevated Blood Lead Level Enforcement Start Date

Begin complying with HUD’s enforcement of the reduced elevated blood lead level threshold as of this date. The notice states that owners must use the reduced threshold of 3.5 µg/dL for children under age 6 in certain assisted target housing and that HUD will begin enforcing the reduced threshold starting June 1, 2026. The notice also reminds covered parties that the earlier compliance deadline tied to the January 17, 2025 Federal Register notice was July 16, 2025. This enforcement date follows the February 27, 2026 implementation notice.
