Work Requirements and Term Limits Proposed Rule Publication Date

Publication date of HUD’s proposed rule on optional work requirements and term limits. The proposed rule would allow eligible PHAs and certain PBRA owners to adopt optional work requirements for work-eligible adults and term limits for non-elderly, non-disabled families, subject to policy adoption, notice, supportive services, hardship policies, and other implementation requirements. This is a major HUD policy issuance date that may trigger review, comment, and planning activity before the May 1, 2026 comment deadline.
